Manufacture and delivery time is usually within two to three weeks of receipt of your payment. They are made of waterproof material that has the feel of canvas. The zipper is along the top and the full length of the case so that it is easy to take the kantele out of the bag. Patty makes them with a little extra room on the inside so you can add some additional protection if you want - but they are padded.
